Ministry of Finance closed 15 businesses in different parts of the country
These closures, along with 162 others to be carried out in the remaining months of this year, are part of the fiscal strategy “Hacienda en acción: Trazando la prosperidad fiscal” (Hacienda in action: Forging fiscal prosperity). Due to non-compliance with their tax obligations, the General Tax Directorate, part of the Ministry of Finance, closed 15 businesses for five natural days in San José, Guanacaste, Heredia, Puntarenas, and Limón.
Out of the total establishments sanctioned, 13 did not pay the corresponding taxes within the time stipulated by law, and two did not submit their declarations within the established timeframe. These businesses include hotels, restaurants, and the sale of agrochemical products. Throughout this year, the Tax Administration has closed 82 businesses due to non-compliance with various tax obligations.
